Lynas Corp. Ltd. said Dec. 17 that it was not granted approval in Malaysia to increase its lanthanide concentrate processing limit for 2019.
The Malaysian regulator gave the company a list of additional reports and management plans required for the application to be reconsidered.
The processing limit resets every Jan. 1, and the company said it intends to apply for an increase for calendar year 2020.
In October, the company reported lower production of rare earths during the first quarter of its fiscal 2020, in line with the production limit applied by the Malaysian government for calendar year 2019.
