Euronext's July average daily transaction value down 10.5% YOY

The average daily transaction value on Euronext NV's cash-order book amounted to around €7.20 billion in July, down 10.5% from a year earlier and down 14.9% from June.

Activity on exchange-traded funds reached an average daily transaction value of €193 million in July, down 9.6% from a year ago and down 14.9% from the previous month. The pan-European exchange recorded 1,207 ETF listings as at the end of July, compared with 1,150 at the end of 2018.

The average daily volume on equity index derivatives stood at 212,720 contracts, up 2.3% from July 2018. The ADV on individual equity derivatives reached 228,018 contracts, down 15.2% on a yearly basis, while the ADV on commodity derivatives fell 30.1% year over year to 58,814 contracts.

The overall ADV on derivatives reached 502,577 contracts at July-end, down 11.7% from a year ago. The ADV on the spot foreign exchange market of Euronext FX, previously known as FastMatch, stood at $16.81 billion in July, down 16.1% from a year ago and down 12.8% from June.
