Medical Properties Trust expands CEO's officer-appointment right

Medical Properties Trust Inc. amended its bylaws to expand the types of officers that its CEO may appoint without approval from the net-lease healthcare real estate investment trust's board.

The amended bylaws, which became effective May 24, provide that the CEO may now appoint vice presidents, assistant vice presidents, assistant treasurers, assistant secretaries and other officers, according to a May 25 filing.
