Perseus Mining Ltd. awarded a US$95.1 million engineering and supply contract for the Yaouré gold project in Cote d'Ivoire to Lycopodium Ltd.
The deal is subject to finalizing a formal contract, full project funding and the West Africa-focused miner receiving the exploitation permit for the operation, according to a Jan. 10 release.
Lycopodium had worked with Perseus to complete a definitive feasibility study and a front-end engineering and design study for the Yaouré project and to successfully deliver the Sissingué gold mine in Cote d'Ivoire.
A preliminary underground inferred resource for the Yaouré project released in November 2018 outlined 595,000 ounces of gold contained in 3 million tonnes grading 6.2 g/t.
