Ontsu Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was ¥31.5 million, an increase from ¥500,000 in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.
The normalized profit margin rose to 0.7% from 0.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell year over year to ¥4.27 billion from ¥4.35 billion, and total operating expenses declined on an annual basis to ¥4.20 billion from ¥4.33 billion.
Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥2.0 million, or a loss of 1 sen per share, compared to a loss of ¥40.1 million, or a loss of 21 sen per share, in the year-earlier period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 48 sen per share, an increase from 47 sen per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥94.0 million, an increase from ¥90.6 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue amounted to ¥17.43 billion, compared with ¥17.51 billion in the prior year, and total operating expenses totaled ¥17.20 billion, compared with ¥17.24 billion in the year-earlier period.
The company said reported net income decreased 88.7% year over year to ¥2.0 million, or 1 sen per share, in the full year, from ¥17.4 million, or 9 sen per share.
