U.S. hotels logged positive performance for the week ended May 5, according to STR data.
Year over year, revenue per available room increased 3.3% to $88.77, and average daily rate increased 2.7% to finish the week at $130.14. Occupancy rose 0.5% to 68.2%.
Dallas saw the largest increase in ADR of the top 25 U.S. markets, rising 10.3% to $116.92, while Oahu Island, Hawaii, recorded the largest RevPAR uptick at 16.7% to $219.21.
Oahu Island also saw the largest increase in occupancy, with the metric rising 7.2% to 88.5%.
Boston saw occupancy decline 5.6% to 74.5%, the largest decrease. The market also logged the largest decline in RevPAR, dropping 9.4% to $156.19. Chicago recorded the biggest ADR decrease, falling 4.4% to $145.68.
