Greenpower Energy Ltd. said June 1 that a sampling program at the Morabisi project in Guyana led to the discovery of a new zone rich in rare earth elements, as well as Tantalum and Niobium.
Samples of up to 1.03% niobium pentoxide and 0.25% tantalum pentoxide were assayed from the Robello area, as well as between 2.5% to 6.4% total rare earth elements.
The company said results are likely ore-grade in an alluvial mining scenario.
An immediate follow-up drilling program is being evaluated.
