Engie-owned Electrabel appoints 2 external directors

Engie SA's Belgian subsidiary Electrabel SA on Oct. 3 appointed Johnny Thijs and Etienne Denoël external directors on the company's board.

Five new directors were elected to the board, according to a news release, with Thijs and Denoël the only external appointments.

Thijs was previously CEO of the Belgian postal service, now BPost, while Denoël is director emeritus of consulting firm McKinsey.

Thijs was also named chairman of the board of Electrabel, while Philippe van Troeye remains managing director of the company.

Other members of Electrabel's board of directors include Paulo Almirante, Pierre Chareyre, Judith Hartmann, Cedric Osterrieth, Thierry Saegeman and Patrick van der Beken.
