NextEra Energy, subsidiaries file automatic shelf registration

NextEra Energy Inc. and its subsidiaries filed an automatic shelf registration for the potential sale of an unspecified amount of securities from time to time.

The July 2 filing covers common stock, preferred stock, stock purchase contracts, stock purchase units, warrants, senior debt securities, subordinated debt securities and junior subordinated debentures of NextEra Energy.

It also covers the preferred stock, senior debt securities, subordinated debt securities and junior subordinated debentures of NextEra Energy Capital Holdings Inc., as well as preferred stock, warrants, first mortgage bonds, senior debt securities and subordinated debt securities of Florida Power & Light Co.

The companies plan to add net proceeds from the sale of their securities to their respective general funds, which they use for general corporate purposes.
