CAPTRUST acquires Watermark Asset Management, Rogers Financial Group

CAPTRUST Financial Advisors, an independent wealth management and retirement plan advisory firm, completed the acquisitions of Watermark Asset Management Inc. and Rogers Financial Group Inc. in 2018.

San Ramon, Calif.-based Watermark is an independent investment adviser with $400 million in assets under management and nearly 400 clients. Watermark is led by Mark Miller, who joins CAPTRUST along with four other financial advisers and three staff members.

Harrisonburg, Va.-based Rogers Financial is an institutional advisory company that advises on more than $2.5 billion in assets for 35 retirement plans. It is headed by Ken Rogers, who joins CAPTRUST along with financial adviser Jenifer Nesselrodt.

Additional terms of both deals were not disclosed.

CAPTRUST also acquired Knox Capital Group, Catawba Capital Management, Morton Wealth Management and FCE Group in 2018, which boosted CAPTRUST's total acquired assets for 2018 to $5.8 billion.

Raleigh, N.C.-based CAPTRUST represents more than $300 billion in client assets from its offices located across the U.S.
