Following federal and state regulatory approvals, Centene Corp. has completed its $3.75 billion deal for substantially all of the assets of Fidelis Care.
The New York-based company known as New York State Catholic Health Plan Inc. will add 1.3 million Medicaid members to Centene in the state. The company also holds about a quarter of New York's Affordable Care Act members.
Centene sought the acquisition in 2017 to expand its public managed care portfolio in the Empire State.
