CVS to close hearing business in US

CVS Health Corp. is set to close its hearing aid centers in the U.S. as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration prepares to approve the sale of over-the-counter hearing devices, Hearing Health & Technology Matters reported Feb. 28, citing a statement from the company.

The retail and health care company's hearing aid centers offer hearing tests inside CVS pharmacies to help customers identify which hearing aid solution best fits their hearing loss, lifestyle and budget.

CVS' hearing aid centers rival those of Costco Wholesale Corp.

Sources reportedly told Hearing Health & Technology Matters that CVS plans to completely shut down operations of its hearing aid clinics across the U.S. by March-end.
