Top banking moves through May 31

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a weekly news summary of executive management and board chair-level changes in the bank and thrift industry.

May 31

Damariscotta, Maine-based First Bancorp Inc. elected Mark Rosborough vice chairman of the board.

Rosborough has been a director of the company and unit First National Bank since 2005.

He serves as president of J. T. Rosborough Insurance Agency in Ellsworth, Maine, and is also a partner in Rosborough Family LP, Penrose and TISA.

Mars National Bancorp Inc. named Janet van Buskirk Balentine chairman, succeeding Dallas Hipple.

Van Buskirk Balentine previously served as vice chairman of the Mars, Pa.-based company.

J. Jay Their, who has served on the board for 14 years, was elected vice chairman.

Also, the company elected Executive Vice President, Treasurer and CFO Michael Kirk as secretary of the board, replacing R. Bruce Mensch.

Lafayette, La.-based MidSouth Bancorp Inc. and unit MidSouth Bank NA named their new CEO, CFO, COO, chief lending officer and chief risk officer.

Interim President and CEO James McLemore was appointed to those two roles permanently. He was earlier predicted to be made permanent, after being appointed on an interim basis following the firing of former President and CEO Clive "Rusty" Cloutier. McLemore previously held the CFO post.

Lorraine Miller was named executive vice president and CFO, following her stint as senior vice president and director of mergers and acquisitions for the company and the bank.

MidSouth Bank Chief Information Officer Kade Peterson adds the same title at the company, and is now also senior executive vice president and COO for the company and the bank.

Jeff Blum is now senior executive vice president and chief lending officer. Blum previously served as senior executive vice president and chief credit officer.

MidSouth Bank Chief Risk Officer Erin DeWitt will additionally assume the same position at MidSouth Bancorp. She has also been named senior executive vice president at both institutions.

May 30

Texas Capital Bancshares Inc. CFO and COO Peter Bartholow is set to retire at the end of 2017, remaining as COO and a director until his retirement.

His CFO post will be assumed by Julie Anderson, currently CFO of Texas Capital Bancshares unit Texas Capital Bank NA, effective July 1.

May 29

Amboy Bank promoted Executive Vice President and COO Stanley Koreyva Jr. to president and COO, effective May 25, NJBIZ reported.

Also, the Old Bridge, N.J.-based bank promoted Domenick Margiotta, Mary Kay Riccardi and G. Gregory Scharpf to executive vice presidents.

Koreyva became executive vice president and COO of the Amboy BanCorp. unit in 2008. Margiotta became senior vice president and chief lending officer in 2008; Riccardi was named CFO in 2007, senior vice president in 2009 and chief risk officer in 2016; and Scharpf became senior vice president and chief retail banking officer in 2008.

The board of Concentra Bank elected Daniel Johnson interim chair. Johnson will serve in the post until June 14, at which time the board will elect a chair and vice chair.

Johnson has been a director since 2015.

May 26

Frederick Parsons and Eric Lewis were named chairman and vice chairman, respectively, of the board of Shepherdstown, W.Va.-based Jefferson Security Bank.

Parsons joined the board in 2003 and was appointed vice chairman in May 2016.

Lewis has been a director since 2004 and is a partner at a public accounting firm.

New Albany, Miss.-based BNA Bank, a unit of BNA Bancshares Inc., named Bob Spencer executive vice president and CFO, the Mississippi Business Journal reported.

Spencer has been with the bank for 30 years.

Former senior vice president and chief information security officer of McLean, Va.-based Capital One Financial Corp. Tony Spinelli was added to the boards of Bedminster, N.J.-based Peapack-Gladstone Financial Corp. and unit Peapack-Gladstone Bank.

Spinelli is the COO and cyberdivision president of Fractal Industries Inc., a firm focused on artificial intelligence and machine-learning decision.

May 25

Los Alamos, N.M.-based Trinity Capital Corp. named James Goodwin Jr. chairman of the board of directors.

Goodwin, who has been a director of the company and unit Los Alamos National Bank since 2013, succeeded Jerry Kindsfather, who resigned May 12.

Oklahoma City-based BancFirst Corp. appointed Chairman, President and CEO David Rainbolt as executive chairman of the company and unit BancFirst under its management succession plan.

David Harlow will take over as CEO of the company. He has been Oklahoma City president for the bank since 2003.

The unit's CEO, Dennis Brand, will become executive committee chairman and will continue to hold a seat on the company's board.

Darryl Schmidt will succeed Brand as CEO of the bank after serving as chief credit officer and director of community banking.

Michael Huston was appointed executive vice president and chief lending officer at Anchorage, Alaska-based Northrim Bank.

Huston most recently was executive vice president and chief banking officer at Billings, Mont.-based First Interstate BancSystem Inc.

Northrim Bank is a unit of Northrim BanCorp Inc.

Provident Bank appointed John Kamin executive vice president and chief information officer.

Before joining the Iselin, N.J.-based bank, Kamin held the same post at Old National Bank, a unit of Old National Bancorp.

Provident Bank is a subsidiary of Provident Financial Services Inc.
