Rangeland Energy starts up Texas logistics system for deliveries to Mexico

Rangeland Energy III LLC began operations at its South Texas Energy Products System, or STEPS, hydrocarbon logistics terminal in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Rangeland, a Texas-based oil and gas midstream company, is set to start loading diesel onto rail cars to be transported to third-party inland terminals in Mexico on the Kansas City Southern railway, according to a June 5 news release. STEPS is providing diesel transportation services for an undisclosed "major" refined products customer, the company said.

STEPS handles receipt and storage of refined products, liquefied petroleum gas and other hydrocarbons for deliveries to Mexico. Rangeland may expand the terminal to include marine facilities in Corpus Christi and Mexico, as well as infrastructure for crude oil, condensate and fuel oil handling. While the terminal can only provide rail takeaway service, Rangeland may build pipeline and marine vessel connections in the future.

Rangeland owns and operates midstream infrastructure for crude, natural gas, NGLs and other petroleum products produced in the Gulf Coast and Canada, and is backed by equity from EnCap Flatrock Midstream.
