A-Cap Energy Ltd. said Sept. 17 that it updated the resource estimate for the Wilconi nickel-cobalt project in Western Australia, a joint venture with Blackham Resources Ltd., to the latest JORC standard.
Using a cutoff grade of 0.5% nickel and 600 parts per million cobalt, the inferred estimate stood at 585,000 tonnes of nickel and 53,000 tonnes of cobalt contained in 78.8 million tonnes grading 0.74% nickel and 0.07% cobalt.
Data from a drilling program comprising 443 drill holes and 18,425 assays was incorporated to form the resource estimate, which delineated the high cobalt-nickel zone from the underlying, dominantly nickel zone.
The resulting resource estimate allowed the resource geologists to define ore shells that better reflect the practical conditions for future mining.
A pre-feasibility study for Wilconi is being fast-tracked over the coming months, with an infill drilling program to convert inferred resources to indicated resources.
