Buyout firm Baring Private Equity Partners Asia is close to buying medical revenue cycle management company AGS Health for US$320 million, The Times of India reported, citing people directly aware of the matter.
Baring Asia beat out a rival offer from Everstone Capital to become the preferred bidder, according to the report. The publication added, citing unnamed sources, that Baring Asia provided better shareholder agreements.
AGS Health's services include medical billing, claim submission, denial management and medical coding. The company employs more than 5,000 specialists and reportedly generates annualized revenues of US$75 million and an operating profit of roughly US$27 million.
