Italian banks' NPLs hit lowest level in 6 years, central bank says

Italian banks recorded in September the lowest level of nonperforming loans on their balance sheets in almost six years, Reuters reported Nov. 9, citing Banca D'Italia data.

Total bad debt at Italian banks stood at €122.5 billion before write-downs in September — down from €126.3 billion in August.

Bad debt fell 20.8% in August and 22.7% overall, compared to a year ago in 2017.
