Mc Group profit misses consensus by 36.3% in Q1

Mc Group Public Company Ltd said its first-quarter normalized net income came to 17 satang per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 26 satang per share.

EPS increased 7.1% year over year from 15 satang.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 132.4 million baht, a gain of 7.1% from 123.7 million baht in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 11.5% from 13.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 27.2% on an annual basis to 1.15 billion baht from 903.2 million baht, and total operating expenses climbed 31.4% year over year to 925.8 million baht from 704.3 million baht.

Reported net income increased year over year to 202.3 million baht, or 25 satang per share, from 195.1 million baht, or 24 satang per share.

As of May 12, US$1 was equivalent to 35.33 baht.
