Pestell enters pet dental treat market with Targeted Pet Treats acquisition

Pestell Group, through its Pestell Pet Products Inc. subsidiary, paid an undisclosed amount to acquire Targeted Pet Treats.

The acquired company, based in Warren, Pa., is a co-manufacturer of dental treats and pet chews. The Pestell subsidiary makes animal litter and small animal bedding products, and the Targeted Pet acquisition allows Pestell Group to expand into the dental treat market, according to a news release published on the PE Hub Network.

Private equity firm Wind Point Partners acquired Pestell Group in June in partnership with that company's CEO, Matt Miller.

The debt financing for the deal was led by Antares Capital, BMO Sponsor Finance and PennantPark. Kirkland & Ellis LLP was legal counsel to Pestell, while Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP was legal counsel to Targeted Pet.
