Amazon to charge sales tax in Mississippi

Amazon.com Inc. will start collecting Mississippi sales tax from Feb. 1, according to a post on Mississippi Department of Revenue's official page on Facebook Inc.'s platform.

The Department's Commissioner Herb Frierson appreciated Amazon for volunteering to charge the state sales tax, hoping that other e-retailers would follow suit, according to the Jan. 24 post.

Amazon also recently started collecting sales tax on all packages shipped to Louisiana.
