Petrobras contracts 2 Transocean drillships for $241M

Swiss driller Transocean Ltd. said March 11 that it was awarded deepwater rig contracts by Petróleo Brasileiro SA - Petrobras for a total of $241 million.

The Ocean Rig Corcovado and Ocean Rig Mykonos drillships will start work in Brazil by November under a 629-day contract and 550-day contract, respectively.

The Corcovado drillship could also be extended up to 680 days, while the Mykonos ship could be extended up to 815 days.
