Australian insurance council says 6,700 claims lodged after Tasmania storm

The Insurance Council of Australia reported that more than 6,700 personal claims have been lodged so far in the wake of a storm that hit Tasmania last month, Nine.com.au reported, citing the council.

Tasmania is still reeling from the storm, which dumped a record-breaking 100mm of rain and damaged homes, properties, businesses and infrastructure including roads and bridges. The damage is pegged at A$45 million.
