All 20 of the largest U.S. banks by market capitalization lost ground in the fourth quarter of 2018 as U.S. bank stocks posted their worst year since 2011.
Among the top 20 largest banks by market capitalization, only two — First Republic Bank and Commerce Bancshares Inc. — posted a year-over-year increase in market capitalization as of Jan. 2. Among all major exchange-traded banks, the median market capitalization dropped 10.5% over the last year.
