Maharashtra Scooters fiscal Q4 loss widens YOY

4544886 said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 amounted to a loss of 1.09 Indian rupees per share, compared with a loss of 17 paise per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 12.5 million rupees, compared with a loss of 2.0 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 3.4% from negative 16.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose on an annual basis to 24.8 million rupees from 12.1 million rupees, and total operating expenses grew 50.9% from the prior-year period to 38.4 million rupees from 25.5 million rupees.

Reported net income grew from the prior-year period to 35.3 million rupees, or 3.08 rupees per share, from 15.7 million rupees, or 1.38 rupees per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 26.92 rupees per share, an increase of 7.7% from 25.00 rupees per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 307.7 million rupees, a gain of 7.7% from 285.7 million rupees in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue grew 66.5% on an annual basis to 69.6 million rupees from 41.8 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 53.0% year over year to 150.9 million rupees from 98.7 million rupees.
