Ontex Group H1 profit climbs 16.9% YOY

Ontex Group NV said its normalized net income for the first half came to 75 euro cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 82 cents per share.

EPS climbed 7.6% year over year from 70 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was €55.7 million, a gain of 16.9% from €47.6 million in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 12.9% on an annual basis to €962.6 million from €852.8 million, and total operating expenses increased 13.2% year over year to €859.4 million from €759.2 million.

Reported net income rose from the prior-year period to €58.2 million, or 79 cents per share, from €56.9 million, or 84 cents per share.
