Astoria Financial completes $200M senior notes offering

Lake Success, N.Y.-based Astoria Financial Corp. completed its underwritten public offering of $200 million aggregate principal amount of its 3.500% senior notes due 2020.

The company expects net proceeds of roughly $197.8 million from the offering, which will be used to repay its 5.000% senior notes due June 19 and for general corporate purposes.

Sandler O'Neill & Partners LP served as sole book-running manager for the offering, while Macquarie Capital (USA) Inc. served as co-manager. Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP served as outside legal counsel to the company, while Hogan Lovells US LLP served as outside legal counsel to the underwriters.
