Shell closes purchase of stake in Silicon Ranch for $217M

Silicon Ranch Corp. has completed the sale of an approximately 43.84% ownership interest in the company to a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell plc.

Under the deal, Swiss private equity firm Partners Group AG sold the stake in Silicon Ranch to Shell New Energies US LLC for up to $217 million in cash. Silicon Ranch owns and operates the 51.5-MW Hattiesburg solar farm in Forrest County, Miss., and the 52.5-MW SR South Loving solar farm in Jeff Davis County, Ga.

The deal received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on March 6. (FERC docket EC18-47)
