Maruzen CHI Holdings Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended July 31 came to a loss of ¥3.43 per share, compared with a loss of ¥3.43 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥317.1 million, compared with a loss of ¥317.6 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to negative 0.8% from negative 0.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue totaled ¥39.01 billion, compared with ¥38.88 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses totaled ¥39.39 billion, compared with ¥39.39 billion in the prior-year period.
Reported net income came to a loss of ¥596.0 million, or a loss of ¥6.44 per share, compared to a loss of ¥664.0 million, or a loss of ¥7.17 per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Sept. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥107.36.
