Restaurant Brands International Inc.-owned coffee chain Tim Hortons has pulled Beyond Meat Inc.'s plant-based burgers and sandwiches from its menu in some Canadian provinces, the company confirmed to S&P Global Market Intelligence.
In June, Tim Hortons started offering Beyond Meat sausages at almost 4,000 of its restaurants in Canada. The partnership expanded in July to include Beyond Meat burgers.
In a statement to Market Intelligence, Tim Hortons said that both the Beyond Burger and Beyond Meat breakfast sandwiches were introduced as a limited-time offer. "We may explore offering the product again in other provinces at a future date based on ongoing guest feedback," the company said.
Back in May, before the products were rolled out across Tim Hortons locations in Canada, the coffee chain said it plans to launch the plant-based options nationwide "if market tests confirm the potential for the platform."
