Doretha Lea will become executive vice president of global public policy and government relations at ViacomCBS, effective upon completion of the Viacom Inc./CBS Corp. merger.
Lea will report to Bob Bakish, who will be the combined entity's president and CEO, according to an Oct. 8 statement.
In her new role, Lea will be in charge of all government affairs and public policy matters for ViacomCBS. She began working for Viacom in 1997 and has been the company's executive vice president of global government affairs since 2013.
With Lea's appointment, CBS' executive vice president of global government affairs, John Orlando, will leave the company once the Viacom/CBS combination closes, Variety reported.
Orlando has been CBS' top lobbyist since 2013 and served as lead lobbyist for the National Association of Broadcasters. He was once considered to be NAB's president.
ViacomCBS previously named Julia Phelps executive vice president and chief communications and corporate marketing officer, while Anthony DiClemente was appointed executive vice president of investor relations.
