Aceto chooses vice chairman to be new board chairman

Port Washington, N.Y.-based healthcare company Aceto Corp. said Alan Levin was appointed nonexecutive chairman of the company.

Levin, who will take over the role July 1, is the vice chairman of the company. He will replace Albert Eilender, who will step down June 30.

Eilender will remain a director of the company until the 2018 annual meeting, scheduled for December. He is not eligible for re-election because he has reached the company's mandatory retirement age.

Levin joined the Aceto board in December 2013 and has been the lead independent director since July 2016.

Before joining Aceto as a director, Levin worked in finance over a 20-year period with Pfizer Inc., the largest U.S. pharmaceutical company by revenue, where he was CFO from 2005 to 2007. He was CFO at Endo HealthSolutions Inc. from 2009 to 2013.
