Conagra recalls hamburger buns over potential presence of plastic

Conagra Brands Inc. is recalling approximately 2,200 cases of hamburger buns over the possible presence of small pieces of white plastic that may have been included during production.

According to a Sept. 6 notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the recall covers Udi's Classic Hamburger Buns with case UPC number 10-6-98997-80913-2, item UPC number 00-6-98997-80913-5 and bag closure code 191971U.

The federal agency said the plastic could turn into a choking hazard, but noted that it has not received any reports of injuries or illnesses related to the items involved.

The Chicago-based processed foods maker advised consumers to either discard the items or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
