Adjuvant Cosme Japan Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 20 came to ¥3.63 per share, an increase from ¥1.49 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥28.1 million, a gain from ¥11.3 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.6% from 1.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 13.8% year over year to ¥1.08 billion from ¥952.0 million, and total operating expenses climbed 11.5% year over year to ¥1.04 billion from ¥934.0 million.
Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥357.1 million, or a loss of ¥46.12 per share, compared to a loss of ¥17.4 million, or a loss of ¥2.39 per share, in the year-earlier period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥60.08 per share, a fall of 26.0% from ¥81.17 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥474.4 million, a decrease of 24.6% from ¥628.8 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue declined from the prior-year period to ¥4.50 billion from ¥4.57 billion, and total operating expenses rose 5.6% on an annual basis to ¥3.77 billion from ¥3.57 billion.
The company said reported net income fell 91.8% year over year to ¥47.1 million, or ¥5.96 per share, in the full year, from ¥571.7 million, or ¥73.81 per share.
