Kansas City Power & Light files $1.10B registration statement

Kansas City Power & Light Co. on March 12 filed a registration statement for the potential sale of up to $1.10 billion of its notes and general mortgage bonds from time to time.

The Great Plains Energy Inc. subsidiary intends to use net proceeds from any sale of the securities for general corporate purposes, including repayment of debt, repurchase, retirement or refinancing of other securities, funding of construction expenditures, and acquisitions.
