MOS Food Services fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

MOS Food Services Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥10.00 per share, a decline of 43.4% from ¥17.66 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥308.4 million, a decrease of 43.4% from ¥544.5 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 1.8% from 3.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled ¥17.00 billion, compared with ¥17.05 billion in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses rose from the prior-year period to ¥16.55 billion from ¥16.25 billion.

Reported net income declined 29.2% from the prior-year period to ¥329.0 million, or ¥10.67 per share, from ¥465.0 million, or ¥15.08 per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
