Savills expands to Middle East with real estate consultancy business buy

Property adviser Savills PLC acquired real estate consultancy business Cluttons Middle East, which will be its first wholly owned business in the Middle East region.

As a result, Cluttons Middle East's 190 staff will be transferred to Savills global platform with immediate effect and rebranded into Savills over the course of 2018.

Cluttons has offices across the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, Oman and Saudi Arabia. It will continue to be led by CEO Steve Morgan; Harry Goodson-Wickes, head of northern Gulf; Murray Strang, head of Dubai; Ed Carnegy, head of Abu Dhabi; Suzanne Eveleigh, head of Sharjah; Ihsan Kharouf, head of Oman; and Richard Paul, head of professional services.

Mark Ridley, Savills deputy group chief executive, said in a release, "The Middle East region is key to the global economy and its continued economic development, increased government investment and a young population will continue to accelerate its significance."
