The Tennessee Valley Authority placed unit 2 of the 2,329-MW Watts Bar nuclear facility back online Dec. 6 after completing a scheduled refueling and maintenance outage.
For the next few days, operators will oversee a power ascension process to bring the unit back to full output, according to a Dec. 7 news release.
During the outage, the company replaced one-third of the unit's fuel assemblies, conducted equipment maintenance and upgrades and inspected the unit's reactor systems and steam generators.
