Rockwell Collins fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

Rockwell Collins Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 came to $1.11 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $1.30 per share.

EPS increased 6.0% year over year from $1.05.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $148.1 million, an increase from $143.1 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 11.5% from 11.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose year over year to $1.29 billion from $1.26 billion, and total operating expenses rose from the prior-year period to $1.04 billion from $1.02 billion.

Reported net income grew 9.1% from the prior-year period to $177.7 million, or $1.33 per share, from $162.9 million, or $1.19 per share.
