Antero Midstream to idle, evaluate $300M Clearwater treatment facility

Antero Midstream Corp. on Sept. 18 started to strategically evaluate its Clearwater wastewater treatment facility and associated landfill, idling the facilities while the assessment is ongoing.

Antero Midstream does not expect its Clearwater facility's idle state during the evaluation to significantly affect the company's cash flow, although it expects to have to take an impairment charge of an unknown amount related to these assets, according to a Sept. 19 SEC filing.

The company's facility and landfill were valued at about $300 million and $75 million, respectively, as of June 30. The Clearwater facility produces about 41,000 barrels of reusable freshwater per day, according to the company's website.

Antero Midstream owns and operates midstream and water assets that primarily service oil and gas company Antero Resources Corp.
