Yamada SXL Home Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 31 was a loss of 99 Japanese sen per share, compared with a loss of 42 sen per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥201.0 million, compared with a loss of ¥85.4 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to negative 1.6% from negative 0.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew on an annual basis to ¥12.35 billion from ¥11.99 billion, and total operating expenses grew on an annual basis to ¥12.63 billion from ¥12.16 billion.
Reported net income came to a loss of ¥396.0 million, or a loss of ¥1.94 per share, compared to a loss of ¥132.0 million, or a loss of 65 sen per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Oct. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥107.05.
