Baxter's electronic medical records system secures US FDA clearance

Baxter International Inc. said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration cleared its Spectrum IQ Infusion System with Dose IQ safety software.

The Deerfield, Ill.-based medical device-maker said the system is designed for bidirectional electronic medical records integration with features to ensure that the correct medications and fluids are delivered to the patient.

Baxter said the Spectrum IQ system also builds upon its Spectrum infusion pump technology and provides a range of auto-programming workflows.
