Netmarble's Q2 revenue, operating profits decline YOY

South Korean online games developer Netmarble Corp. reported a 15.1% year over year decrease in net profit in the second quarter.

The company reported a net profit of 66 billion South Korean won in the second quarter, down from 78 billion won in the same quarter of 2017.

Revenue fell to 501 billion won in the quarter from 540 billion won in the year-ago quarter. Operating income was 62 billion won, down from 105 billion won.

Netmarble attributed the decline in revenue and operating profit in the quarter to deferred revenue of 31.8 billion won and associated operating profit from its Harry Potter game.

As of Aug. 8, US$1 was equivalent to 1,119.18 South Korean won.
