Bellway's H1 pretax profit climbs 16.6% YOY

Bellway PLC said pretax profit for the six months ended Jan. 31 amounted to £288.7 million, an increase of 16.6% from £247.6 million in the prior-year period.

EPS totaled 190.7 pence per share, rising 16.9% from 163.2 pence per share in the year-earlier period. Revenue increased 15.3% on an annual basis to £1.32 billion from roughly £1.15 billion. Gross profit came to £343.1 million compared to £296.7 million in the year-earlier period, reflecting a 15.6% change.

The company increased its interim dividend by 28.0% to 48 pence per share from 37.5 pence per share in the half year ended Jan. 31, 2017.

The company saw a 6.3% year over year volume growth to 4,741 homes from 4,462 homes.
