Report: Ukrainian investor files for VEB's unit purchase approval with regulator

Ukrainian businessman Oleksandr Yaroslavsky is interested in acquiring Vnesheconombank unit PSC Prominvestbank and submitted relevant purchase documents to the Ukrainian central bank for approval, Ukrainian News reported Dec. 12, citing an unnamed source.

The central bank confirmed it received documentation to approve the purchase of a 99.7% stake in Prominvestbank, RIA Novosti Ukraine said the same day. The documents were submitted Dec. 8 by a Ukrainian citizen, the regulator reportedly said, without disclosing the name of the investor.

In July, the Ukrainian central bank refused to approve the sale of Prominvestbank to investors Pavlo Fuks and Maksim Mikitas.
