Keyera, SemGroup unit to build C$1.3B Montney, Duvernay NGL pipeline system
Keyera Corp. and SemCAMS Midstream ULC entered into a 50/50 joint venture agreement to build a roughly C$1.3 billion pipeline system. The proposed Key Access pipeline system would move NGLs and condensate from the Montney and Duvernay shales to Alberta's NGL hub outside of Edmonton. SemCAMS Midstream is a gathering and processing company jointly owned by SemGroup Corp. and investment firm KKR & Co.
National Fuel gets extension for project to boost deliveries to petrochem site
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission gave National Fuel Gas Supply Corp. more time to expand its pipeline system in Pennsylvania, which would allow it to deliver an additional 133,000 Dth/d to a petrochemical facility. FERC staff issued the National Fuel Gas Co. subsidiary a nearly four-month extension for the Line N to Monaca project in Beaver and Washington counties, Pa., giving the company until Sept. 20 to complete construction and put the project in service.
Investors rewarded Appalachian drillers who stuck with spending plans in Q1
Investors rewarded capital spending by Appalachian shale gas drillers who stuck to their existing production plans and punished the one producer who surprised the market with a last-minute bump in capital expenditures. Shares in Chesapeake Energy Corp. and Southwestern Energy Co. have gained more than 20% year-to-date, despite rising capital spending in the first quarter and no expectation of seeing positive cash flows this year, according to a May 15 S&P Global Market Intelligence analysis of the market's reaction to first-quarter results.
