Bank of East Asia, NSW Holdings close sale of share registry biz

Bank of East Asia Ltd. and NWS Holdings Ltd. closed the sale of Tricor Holdings Ltd. to private equity firm Permira for HK$6.47 billion.

The deal closed March 31, the Hong Kong-based bank said the same day. As part of the deal, Bank of East Asia and NWS Holdings sold their 75.61% and 24.39% stakes, respectively, in the share registry business to Permira.

Bank of East Asia said it will book a profit of approximately HK$3 billion in respect of the sale.
