Report: Italy's UniCredit to stay in Mediobanca shareholder pact

Italian lender UniCredit SpA is inclined not to leave the shareholder pact that holds a 28.5% ownership stake in Mediobanca - Banca di Credito Finanziario SpA, Reuters reported Sept. 10, citing two sources familiar with the matter.

Members of the pact have until the end of September to decide whether they want to stay or exit the pact. Mediobanca is the top investor in Italian insurer Generali.

UniCredit declined to comment, according to Reuters.
