French annual inflation revised up to 1.3% in August

French annual harmonized inflation was revised upward to 1.3% in August from 1.2% predicted previously, final data from the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies showed. The latest print was in line with the previous month's reading.

Month over month, the harmonized index of consumer prices grew 0.5% in August, confirming an earlier estimate and compared with a 0.2% drop in July.

In nonharmonized terms, consumer price inflation eased to 1.0% year over year during August from 1.1% in July. A marked decline in manufactured product prices year over year was partially offset by a rise in food prices.

Month over month, the nonharmonized index rose 0.5% following a 0.2% drop in July. The rebound was due to a 0.9% growth in manufactured product prices in August after a 2.8% drop in July.

Annual core inflation decelerated to 0.7% in August from 0.9% in the previous month.
