Chuy's Holdings Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended June 28 amounted to 28 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 25 cents per share.
EPS climbed 53.9% year over year from 18 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $4.7 million, an increase of 54.0% from $3.1 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 6.3% from 4.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 19.1% year over year to $75.4 million from $63.3 million, and total operating expenses increased 16.1% year over year to $67.8 million from $58.4 million.
Reported net income grew 52.5% year over year to $5.4 million, or 32 cents per share, from $3.5 million, or 21 cents per share.
