OMRON fiscal Q2 profit climbs 40.4% YOY

OMRON Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to ¥71.60 per share, a gain of 40.5% from ¥50.97 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥15.76 billion, an increase of 40.4% from ¥11.22 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 7.6% from 6.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 11.9% on an annual basis to ¥207.24 billion from ¥185.14 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 10.0% on an annual basis to ¥184.05 billion from ¥167.37 billion.

Reported net income increased 52.5% year over year to ¥18.19 billion, or ¥82.66 per share, from ¥11.93 billion, or ¥54.18 per share.
